Deliveroo, which is now part of DoorDash, is seeking an Engineering Manager for Accounting Infrastructure and Systems based in London. Operating within the Accounting Revenue Data team in the Finance organization, this role leads a technical team focused on creating scalable backend systems, data pipelines, and integrations. These platforms drive accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting workflows for the marketplace company.
The chosen candidate will report to the Senior Manager of M&A Accounting (Data) and will collaborate with cross-functional engineering groups alongside Finance and Accounting departments. Responsibilities include defining the strategic roadmap for accounting infrastructure, translating regulatory and operational needs into automated systems, and mentoring engineers. This position suits an experienced technical leader with a background in distributed systems and financial processes who wants to build global-scale processes within a fast-moving enterprise environment.
Responsibilities
- Own the strategic roadmap and execution for accounting infrastructure, including data pipelines, system integrations, and automation platforms
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, and cross-functional engineering teams to build reliable and auditable backend systems
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers while setting technical direction and fostering a high-performance culture
- Drive measurable improvements in data accuracy, pipeline reliability, and system scalability to enable faster close cycles and audit readiness
Requirements
- Have at least 7 years of experience in data or software engineering
- Bring a minimum of 2 years of experience leading engineering teams
- Possess hands-on expertise with modern data infrastructure tools such as Fivetran, dbt Cloud, Snowflake, and Workato
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of financial processes like revenue recognition, reconciliation, and close workflows
- Communicate clearly to align diverse partners around complex technical tradeoffs and delivery timelines
Qualifications
- Experience working within fintech, marketplace, or high-growth tech environments
- Familiarity with distributed systems and data quality frameworks
- Experience with SOX-relevant controls
