The organization is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Financial Intelligence team within FinHub in the Platform group. This position centers on directing a team responsible for account and transaction history infrastructure used across all company offerings.
This role suits professionals who thrive in an intense, fast-paced environment and possess a background in software development and leadership. The selected manager will guide the team through a significant transition involving the redesign of foundational architecture to support future scale and new financial offerings like retirement accounts and sub-accounts.
Key duties involve directing engineering talent, managing the product roadmap for internal tools, shaping architectural strategies for distributed systems, and collaborating with cross-functional leaders. The position requires participation in hiring, quality oversight, and incident response operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of six engineers across different seniority levels
- Oversee the re-architecture of core account and history systems to handle greater throughput
- Manage the FinHub Tools roadmap for internal dashboards, user interfaces, and workflows
- Guide architectural decisions concerning distributed systems and streaming pipelines
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and finance leadership on quarterly roadmaps
- Partner with talent acquisition to hire engineers and oversee engineering quality and incident response
Requirements
- Seven or more years of experience in software engineering
- At least two years of engineering management experience including hiring and coaching
- Experience delivering and operating distributed systems at scale in production
- Ability to review code, lead incident responses, and triage issues
- Experience translating ambiguous technical problems into execution plans
- Background in financial systems, event-driven architectures, or high-precision transaction processing
- Experience managing teams covering backend services, streaming pipelines, and full-stack tooling
- Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly with human oversight
