Job Description
Canonical wants an Enterprise Customer Success Manager who is a native Japanese speaker and works remotely from the APAC region. Customer success is a newish strategic function whose aims are to lower risk and churn, help customers take up new products and services, and grow accounts already on the books. The manager earns customer confidence and guides them through a large catalogue that runs from Ubuntu through open-source infrastructure tools and applications.
Customer success managers are organised into three motions: mass coverage for smaller businesses at the start of their journey, focus coverage for strategic and enterprise accounts, and step growth coverage for a shortlist of high-potential customers. The posting does not say which motion this role belongs to. Products cited include Ubuntu Pro, MAAS and OpenStack, plus Ceph, Kubernetes and data applications.
Daily tasks involve bringing new customers on board, steering multi-party projects that involve developers, IT leaders and decision makers, and building engagement plans together with the sales, field engineering and support groups. The manager tends a regional book of accounts, flags expansion chances and renewal dangers, holds a weekly review of customers and business with cross-team participants, and pushes obstacles toward resolution. Championing customers internally, running digital campaigns and handling reactive tickets are also included.
