Job Description
This is a full-time, on-site leadership role over Druva's worldwide group of subject matter experts (SMEs), specialists in the company's most important workloads, spanning public clouds such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, along with Microsoft 365 and collaboration tools. The Field CTO is the most senior technical voice in the field and the authority that the sales engineering group and customers turn to for complex opportunities.
The job combines people leadership with market-facing work. The leader grows the SME group into a security-literate team and links its workload expertise to the company's security and data resilience message, spanning how data is handled over its lifetime and the loss-prevention controls (DLP) that protect it. The Field CTO also raises Druva's profile against rivals in data protection and cyber resilience, and converts technical credibility into business outcomes in the largest accounts.
Responsibilities include leading security strategy conversations with major customers and prospects, building trust with C-level technology leaders such as CIOs, CISOs, CTOs and chief data officers, and developing security thought leadership through collateral, speaking and analyst engagement. The role gathers customer security concerns for product planning, supports customer advisory board sessions and an annual security conference, and runs internal training on attacker techniques and ransomware recovery. It also works with channel partners, and with the product, marketing and sales groups, on messaging and joint go-to-market efforts.
The ideal candidate has at least twelve years of hands-on cybersecurity practice, with a strong grounding in forensics and recovery and, ideally, experience responding to or recovering from ransomware. Experience running incident response, security operations or crisis teams is a plus. Strong written and spoken communication, the ability to explain complex security topics to non-technical audiences, and familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK and public cloud security are expected. The posting lists a base pay range of $346,000 to $484,667 per year.
