Canva is hiring a Finance Business Partner based in Sydney as part of the FP&A team. The role follows a hybrid pattern, combining remote work with in-person time at the flagship campus in Sydney. The partner advises senior business leaders on strategic planning, execution and efficiency, drawing on data, financial insight and business context.
Responsibilities include helping leaders understand the growth levers in their areas and influence them, linking company direction to each group's plan and team KPIs, and building a clear, evidence-based view of cost structure and investment. The partner builds precise, driver-based forecasts that match execution, converts strategy and initiatives into financial models in both directions, and designs reporting that gets to root causes. The job also includes setting disciplined standards for business cases and trade-offs to guide capital allocation, flagging risks and opportunities, and supporting sound financial close and planning rhythms. Encouraging adherence to controls, such as purchase order processes, and coaching future leaders in technology finance are part of the job.

- Capacity to analyse numbers and tell the story to varied audiences
- Commercial judgement and pragmatism when data is imperfect
- Bias for action and quick adaptation to changing needs
