Alloy is seeking a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer to join its engineering organization as one of the initial two members of a brand-new team. In this position, the professional will embed with strategic enterprise accounts and channel partners to manage technical deployments from start to finish. The role bridges software engineering, product work, and solutions engineering, requiring the candidate to architect integrations, write production code, and guide customer engineering leadership.

Responsibilities
- Design and optimize end-to-end setups for clients and channel partners, handling third-party data connections, API integrations, software development kits, and performance limitations
- Develop production-ready software across the company technology stack including Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and AWS
- Act as the technical authority during discussions with client engineering leaders and make architectural choices in real time
- Take charge of the engineering portion of quarterly business reviews for assigned accounts and participate in on-call escalations
- Convert completed deployment work into standardized documentation and reusable platform primitives
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of practical experience building production-ready software with a history of delivering scalable solutions
- Prior background in a technical, customer-facing role such as solutions engineering or forward-deployed engineering with external stakeholder accountability
- Proficiency in backend development and application programming interfaces, with the ability to write code across unfamiliar services
- Capability to make and defend architectural choices under ambiguous conditions
- Capacity to communicate intricate technical integrations to various stakeholders ranging from engineers to vice presidents
Qualifications
- Background at organizations with a strong forward-deployed engineering culture
- Knowledge of fraud prevention, identity verification, know-your-customer regulations, or financial services infrastructure
- Familiarity with embedded front-end integrations or software development kit creation
