Faire operates a technology wholesale marketplace that connects independent retailers with global brands, utilizing data and machine learning to support local business growth. The company is currently hiring a Fulfillment Operations Specialist to manage and scale brand onboarding and inbound processes for the Fulfilled by Faire program.
In this position, you will act as the central coordinator between Faire, participating brands, and warehouse partners. You will oversee the complete onboarding journey from initial kickoff through post-launch stabilization, tracking progress across multiple streams and anticipating risks. This role is well-suited for a self-driven operator with strong business acumen who excels at solving complex problems through collaboration and influence rather than direct authority. Success in the job involves leveraging operational metrics to drive decisions, collaborating with product and customer experience teams, and continuously improving internal tooling and workflows.
Please note that this is a full-time, on-site role based at the company's facility in Elwood, Illinois, operating five days per week.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory inbound workflows and exception handling throughout the brand lifecycle.
- Oversee the complete brand onboarding experience for Fulfilled by Faire from kickoff to post-launch stabilization.
- Serve as the main communication link between the company, brands, and warehouse partners to guarantee operational readiness.
- Monitor progress across multiple workstreams to proactively spot potential risks, delays, or quality issues.
- Use data and operational metrics to predict qualitative challenges and inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with Product, Fulfillment, and Customer Experience teams to fix issues and refine onboarding processes.
- Help refine onboarding procedures, internal documentation, and tooling.
- Provide ongoing post-launch support to brands for a reliable fulfillment experience.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations, supply chain, marketplace operations, fulfillment, or related fields.
- Hands-on background working with physical goods fulfillment and warehousing operations.
- Familiarity with scaling warehouse operations built on solid methodologies like 5S, Poka Yoke, Andon, Kaizen, and standard work.
- Strong business judgment and problem-solving skills relying on influence rather than direct authority.
- Ability to thrive and execute independently within an ambiguous, fast-moving setting.
Qualifications
- Prior background involving high-quality warehouse receiving operations.
- Experience onboarding sellers or merchants onto a marketplace or fulfillment program.
- Working familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems and using data to resolve operational problems.
- Track record of improving or scaling operational workflows in high-growth environments.
- Previous experience working with online marketplaces.
