Job Description

Flex is hiring a General Manager to lead its venture and private equity sector operations. This full-time, remote position reports directly to the CEO and functions similarly to sector coverage roles at an investment bank. The selected candidate will own the entire vertical end-to-end, including strategy, relationship development, partnership building, product prioritization, and the resulting P&L. The goal is to establish Flex as the primary financial institution for venture and private equity clients by leveraging the company's platform, balance sheet, and internal teams.

Flex operates as an AI-native private bank designed for ambitious business owners, targeting affluent enterprises generating between $3 million and $200 million in revenue. Since its public launch in September 2023, the organization has scaled rapidly to nine-figure annualized revenue with a trajectory toward profitability by late 2026. The company has secured over $100 million in equity funding and more than $300 million in debt. This position suits an experienced commercial leader who can originate business, build high-value partnerships that onboard hundreds of owners simultaneously, and collaborate with product, credit, risk, and member experience teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the venture and private equity sector end-to-end, defining the winning strategy and overseeing the P&L
  • Identify and cultivate key relationships with general partners, fund CFOs, operating partners, fund administrators, and fund-finance lenders
  • Structure partnerships and negotiate referral economics without administrative support
  • Determine product priorities required to secure venture and private equity clients
  • Build financial models and utilize banker-level Excel skills to understand unit economics for deposits, cards, and credit

Requirements

  • Possess 7 to 12 years of experience in investment banking, private credit, private equity, venture capital, or a senior commercial role within the sector
  • Demonstrate a proven record of originating business rather than merely servicing it
  • Bring an active professional network of key figures within venture and private equity
  • Maintain fluency in how funds and portfolio companies handle capital calls, distributions, portfolio treasury, credit, and operating-partner priorities
  • Submit a detailed one-page application pitch alongside a CV detailing sector strategy, target maps, partnership plans, and light P&L projections

Qualifications

  • Experience in fintech, banking, lending, or selling financial products directly to business owners
  • Established standing in the venture and private equity community through mediums like a podcast, newsletter, conference stage, or trade body board seat
  • Prior investing, advisory, or operating experience within a venture or private equity company

Core Skills

Benefits

  • Base salary ranging from USD 275,000 to USD 325,000 per year, adjusted for location and experience
  • Variable compensation targeted at 100 percent of the base salary, paid on sector revenue with a guaranteed variable component during the first year
  • Eligibility for equity compensation
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • Paid time off and a 401(k) plan
