Job Description

Canonical is hiring a Global Treasury Analyst, a senior role within its finance function. The company publishes Ubuntu, employs around 1,000 people in over 70 countries and keeps few roles in offices. Its customers are global, its products are typically priced in US dollars, and it is largely paid in advance for its services.

The job is remote. The analyst reports to the Chief Financial Officer and collaborates with senior leaders, FP&A, accounting, legal, outside auditors and advisers. Salaries are paid in a range of local currencies, so the role is tied to managing exchange rate exposure. The posting also says the role may help with equity plan administration.

Main responsibilities include analysing, forecasting and managing cash positions and liquidity across several currencies and legal entities, and running several business cases to lift yield and efficiency. The analyst suggests ways to handle currency exposure, oversees bank credit risk and transactions, and makes sure controls around cash and investments are in place. The role improves cash flow forecasting, prepares treasury reports and strategy proposals for management, works with accounting on intercompany balances, and leads technology projects such as a treasury management system. Meeting SOX control duties and FBAR and FATCA reporting is also part of the job.

Candidates need an excellent academic record and a first degree in a numbers-driven subject such as business, finance or economics, plus a treasury credential such as CTP or CFA, or the equivalent. Prior work inside an internationally active treasury team, strong written and spoken English, presentation skills and willingness to travel twice a year are expected. No salary is stated.
