Zoox is hiring a Hardware Engineer for Test Development in its Autonomy Hardware Validation team, based in Foster City, California. The role builds and runs test setups for vehicle electronic control units, covering electrical, environmental and reliability testing, and supports root cause analysis of failures. It is a full-time, on-site position requiring presence in the office five days a week, suited to an engineer with at least two years of hardware test or validation experience.
Responsibilities
- Build, debug and maintain test setups for vehicle ECUs, including fixtures, harnesses and thermal chambers
- Run electrical, environmental and reliability tests in Foster City labs and local test labs
- Write Python test automation and use AI tools to speed up test development
- Support root cause analysis with validation, design and firmware engineers, tracking issues in Jira
Requirements
- At least two years in hardware test, hardware validation or electrical engineering
- A BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related field
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies and data acquisition systems
- Working proficiency in Python for test automation or data analysis
Qualifications
- Experience with fault injection, hardware-in-the-loop or automated test equipment
- Knowledge of automotive validation standards such as ISO 16750, CISPR 25 or ISO 11452
- Experience with Jira, Polarion or another ALM tool
