Job Description
Zoox is hiring a Systems Engineer for Autonomy Verification and Validation within its System Design and Mission Assurance team, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The role builds the safety case for autonomous driving robots through verification strategies, simulation test programs and traceability between requirements and results. It is a full-time, hybrid position for an engineer with at least six years of systems engineering experience in automotive, robotics or aerospace.
Responsibilities
- Set strategies and methods to verify and validate the software stack with robust test coverage
- Write simulation test plans and validation programs covering requirements and scenarios
- Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases and results
- Troubleshoot field issues, trace failures to subsystems and build automated data extraction tools
Requirements
- Bachelor's or higher degree in automotive, aerospace, robotics, electrical, mechanical or systems engineering
- At least six years of systems engineering experience in automotive, robotics or aerospace
- Analytical skills and hands-on experience
- Ability to work through ambiguity and collaborate across functions
Qualifications
- Experience writing integration or structured test plans for safety-critical systems, such as ADAS features like AEB
- Familiarity with C or C++
- Python and SQL for test scripting and data analysis
