YipitData is a market research and analytics firm focused on the disruptive economy. Its in-house platform crunches alternative datasets spanning software, AI, cloud, e-commerce, ride-hailing and payments. Teams sit in several locations, including the US, APAC and India. A recent $475 million raise came from The Carlyle Group.
This leader runs an expanding collection of systematic data offerings: quant products, consumer transaction records, consumer receipt records, and additional feeds. The leader is accountable for business results, including ARR growth, retention, profitability and multi-year planning. The role sets portfolio direction, decides where to compete and where to invest, and designs the commercial model, including pricing, packaging and go-to-market work with sophisticated buyers.
The role also designs an operating model linking business goals with product plans, data spending, engineering needs and sales delivery. It sets standards for trustworthy, usable systematic data, covering point-in-time accuracy, history depth, coverage, stable IDs, lineage and dependable delivery, and steers how products reach buyers via feeds, APIs, cloud hosts, notebooks and marketplaces.
A strong candidate has senior-level history growing a data, fintech, info-services, analytics or enterprise software company and has run a P&L directly. Experience with quantitative investors, alternative data and third-party data partnerships is also valued. Base salary is $225,000 to $250,000, with an annual performance bonus of up to 25 percent and equity. Fully remote work inside the US is permitted.
Responsibilities
- Be accountable for recurring revenue growth, client retention, margins and wider financial outcomes
- Convert strategy into a multi-year plan with targets, assumptions, resources and risks
- Build a business scorecard that shows results, direction and required decisions
- Set portfolio and investment strategy, including which markets and buyer segments to pursue
- Decide where to scale, hold steady, change course or stop investing
- Own packaging, pricing, bundling and entitlements
- Work with Revenue and Client Strategy on sales, trials, onboarding, adoption and retention
- Set up an operating rhythm linking priorities, roadmaps, data investment and commercial execution
- Clarify who decides what among the business side, Product, the quant team, Data, Engineering, Revenue and Operations
- Use AI and automation for dataset evaluation, quality checks, documentation and client rollout
Requirements
- Senior leadership background in growing a data, fintech, info services, analytics or enterprise software company
- Hands-on responsibility for a P&L or a business unit
- History of converting data assets into a unified, repeatable revenue engine
- Sound judgment about markets and portfolio choices
- Experience designing pricing, packaging, go-to-market and service models for enterprise or technical buyers
- Experience leading across a matrixed organization
- Technical fluency on data quality, methodology, schemas, APIs and delivery reliability
- Ability to build teams, grow leaders and design scalable organizations
- Excellent written, verbal and executive communication
Qualifications
- Work with quant investors, systematic funds or data science teams
- Background in alternative data, market data or financial information products
- Understanding of point-in-time accuracy, backtests, identifier mapping, stable schemas, lineage and repeatable results
- Background monetizing datasets via feeds, APIs, cloud hosts, marketplaces or agent-based interfaces
- Background acquiring, licensing or overseeing outside data relationships
- Experience using AI to improve data product development or client delivery
