Job Description
This Head of Growth and Product role is part of the Advanced Shipping Manager (ASM) team, a brand in the saas.group portfolio. ASM produces real-time, rule-driven shipping quotes and delivery forecasts for online retailers at checkout. It quotes parcel and LTL freight across carriers including FedEx, UPS and USPS, and plugs into a long list of storefront platforms. It has been serving thousands of merchants for two decades.
This is a growth-led job. ASM is an established, profitable tool whose founder is leaving at year-end following a planned handover. The new head will take charge of the brand's revenue side: pricing and packaging, deeper sales into the existing customer base, recovering lost accounts from rivals, and turning large-volume merchants into paying customers.
The post also holds the product roadmap and sets direction for a senior full-stack developer and a support lead. The person must grasp why product decisions are made, lead demonstrations and merchant calls, scope and price custom development, and improve documentation, help-center articles and CRM habits.
In the first three to six months, the hire is expected to become fluent in the product through support cases, demos and customer calls, absorb the founder's expertise on carriers, freight rules, customer history and pricing instincts, and launch the brand's first structured outbound sales effort. Performance is judged on revenue, and applicants are asked to name specific accounts or sales efforts they personally grew.
The ideal candidate has a track record of generating income at small B2B software firms, has done growth work, product work or run a business as a founder, and is at ease talking with customers directly. Technical literacy is needed to define features and weigh integration trade-offs with developers, though writing code is not required. Hands-on familiarity with e-commerce storefront platforms is an advantage.
The job is fully remote, with considerable overlap with US business hours. The posting also describes a trusting, low-bureaucracy setting with generous time away.
