Job Description

Moniepoint seeks a Head of Personal Banking Sales Network to direct the retail sales distribution engine for personal banking. Recognized by the Financial Times in 2024 as Africa's fastest-growing fintech, Moniepoint serves over 10 million accounts and handles billions in monthly transactions, operating as Nigeria's largest merchant acquirer. This network leadership role involves building, motivating, and controlling a large independent contractor field force along with its regional management layer, rather than engaging in individual selling.

The position suits an experienced sales professional with a background in financial services, telecommunications, FMCG distribution, or other high-volume regulated industries. The ideal candidate brings strong sales analytics capabilities, people leadership skills, and a willingness to travel regularly across regions. Success in this position is measured by hitting monthly and annual first transaction targets, boosting agent output, maintaining structured review routines, and keeping the cost per new active customer within approved thresholds.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end performance of the sales team to achieve acquisition and transaction targets via the field channel
  • Monitor agent productivity including acquisitions per active agent monthly, share of agents reaching 100 percent of targets, and time to first sale
  • Oversee network health metrics such as active agent count, attrition rates, reactivation, and coverage across priority cities
  • Create and maintain territory structures while setting recruitment targets for each cluster
  • Manage the channel cost per acquisition, encompassing commissions, incentives, and field support
  • Develop commission and incentive structures focused on activated and transacting customers
  • Ensure total compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory standards
  • Conduct field sales performance routines like daily check-ins, weekly regional reviews, and monthly business reviews

Requirements

  • Possess 10 to 15 years of experience in field sales leadership
  • Spend at least 5 years leading regional sales leaders
  • Demonstrate direct experience running a distributed agent, agency, or independent contractor network of significant scale
  • Show proven ownership of a commission or incentive scheme, including design and cost defense
  • Exhibit a strong command of sales analytics such as funnel conversion, productivity distribution, and cohort-based performance
  • Display strong people leadership abilities to train, motivate, and manage a large field sales team
  • Bring operational experience from financial services, telecoms, FMCG distribution, or another high volume regulated or semi regulated industry
  • Maintain a willingness to travel across regions regularly

Qualifications

  • Experience in banking, payments, or lending distribution within Nigeria
  • Experience building and scaling a field sales team
  • Familiarity with sales enablement tooling and CRM-based territory management
