Moniepoint seeks a senior individual contributor for a Team Lead, System Administrator position to tactically lead the IT infrastructure team. Moniepoint is an all-in-one financial services platform for emerging markets, powering over 3 million people with personal and business banking, payments, credit, and business management tools. Processing the majority of POS transactions in Nigeria, the company handled $182 billion in 2023.
This role combines hands-on technical delivery with team orchestration, focusing on performance, SOP adherence, and operational excellence. The selected candidate will manage cloud and network infrastructures, automate workflows using tools like n8n, administer telephony platforms, and enforce security policies. Additionally, the role involves overseeing user endpoints, driving technical support, and coaching team members on responsible AI integration. Occasional weekend or after-hours work for system upgrades and incident response may be necessary, alongside physical tasks such as lifting equipment up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate, and coach a team of Systems Administrators to ensure consistent output quality and SOP adherence
- Manage team workloads, establish priorities, and oversee SLA compliance for system uptime, ticket SLAs, and incident response
- Design and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, virtualisation platforms, and hybrid cloud environments across GCP, OCI, and Azure
- Administer network routing policies, F5 load balancers, enterprise networking equipment, and core network services
- Implement and evaluate AI tools and build automation workflows using n8n and scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, and Bash
- Maintain enterprise telephony platforms including xCALLY PBX, call routing, and carrier integrations
- Enforce IT security policies, endpoint security, identity governance, and manage incident responses with Root Cause Analyses
- Administer Google Workspace, MDM solutions, and oversee L2/L3 support along with IT asset lifecycle management
Requirements
- At least 5 years of proven experience in systems administration, infrastructure, or network engineering roles
- Minimum of 2 years of formal or informal team leadership experience including coaching and performance feedback
- Advanced proficiency in Active Directory or Directory as a Service, and Linux/Unix administration
- Hands-on expertise in cloud networking, TCP/IP, BGP routing, virtual routers, and F5 load balancers
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash, alongside Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Relevant industry certifications from CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, cloud providers like GCP, Azure, or OCI, or Linux
