Responsibilities
- Maintain high reliability and uptime for mission-critical services by building scalable, self-healing systems with disaster recovery workflows.
- Manage end-to-end incident response, coordinate across teams during outages, direct root cause analyses, and implement preventive measures.
- Expand and develop the engineering organization through hiring, skill building, goal alignment, and promoting a culture of ownership.
- Collaborate with product teams to scope features, design reusable platforms, and ensure predictable roadmap delivery and safe releases.
- Review and approve architecture and design for scalability, security, and cost-efficiency while providing senior technical direction across squads.
- Establish reliability and delivery metrics to eliminate bottlenecks and accelerate engineering velocity.
- Drive the adoption of AI tools to enhance developer experience, reduce toil, and improve operational speed and quality.
Requirements
- Possess at least 12 years of experience in software engineering, with a minimum of 3 years leading multi-team engineering organizations including OKRs, hiring, performance management, and delivery turnarounds.
- Demonstrate experience leading engineering for a mature, consumer-facing product with a large user base.
- Show a proven history of managing incident responses and reliability enhancements for real-time, high-traffic systems.
- Apply an SRE mindset focused on SLOs, error budgets, automation, and blameless postmortems.
- Build secure applications and services by default, covering secure coding, data privacy, and mobile security.
- Monitor and optimize cloud and engineering expenditures during scaling.
- Demonstrate hands-on knowledge of databases, Kafka, Redis, Kubernetes, and GCP, alongside the technical stack of Go, Flutter, and React.
- Use AI personally and prove a track record of driving AI adoption across an organization.
