Job Description
Moniepoint Inc. operates an all-in-one financial platform across Africa that delivers digital payments, banking, credit, cross-border transactions, and business management tools. As the largest merchant acquirer in Nigeria, the organization processes over $250 billion in digital payment volume annually and powers the majority of point-of-sale transactions in the country. The POS Channel department is currently seeking a Head of POS Recovery to direct the complete lifecycle of non-performing point-of-sale terminal assets.
This leadership position oversees everything from initial risk flagging and physical retrieval to financial settlement and post-write-off recovery. The person in this role will build and refine strategies encompassing device collection, swap logistics, sales agent coordination, external agency management, and asset custody. Responsibilities also include managing a distributed field recovery team across multiple regions, defining standard operating procedures, tracking performance metrics, and maintaining self-funding recovery economics where retrieval value exceeds bounty and logistics expenditures. Monthly reporting on terminal volumes, financial impact, and dispute outcomes is a central function of the job.
This opportunity suits senior professionals with extensive backgrounds in managing large-scale field operations, asset recovery, logistics, or after-sales service. Ideal candidates will bring deep familiarity with the Nigerian market, experience leading regional teams, and strong financial discipline regarding unit economics and budget oversight. Working on-site, the successful candidate will enforce strict operational discipline, ethical conduct, and structured processes to protect the organization's distributed terminal assets.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end terminal recovery lifecycle from risk flagging through to physical retrieval, financial settlement, and post-write-off recovery
- Design and refine recovery strategies covering device collection, swap logistics, sales agent coordination, external agency management, and asset custody flows
- Lead, manage, and hold accountable a distributed field recovery team across multiple regions while maintaining ethical conduct and operational discipline
- Develop comprehensive standard operating procedures for various recovery scenarios including BRM-led recovery, external agency coordination, business takeover, and dispute handling
- Build training programmes for recovery agents covering terminal identification, evidence collection, GPS and field management tools, and escalation protocols
- Track recovery KPIs such as recovery rates, average days to recovery, cost per recovery, revive rates, and bounty efficiency
- Ensure recovery program economics remain self-funding by keeping total bounty spend and logistics costs below the recovery value of retrieved terminals
- Produce monthly reports detailing terminals entering recovery, recovered assets, write-offs, net financial impact, and external agency spending
