Motive is hiring a full-time, on-site Installations Specialist based in the United States. The job blends practical hardware work with customer contact and project coordination. The technician fits, services and repairs telematics units inside client vehicles, aiming for dependable craftsmanship and happy customers. Products involved include gateways, AI-enabled cameras and related accessories, deployed across many vehicle types and assets. This position suits someone curious about how technology sharpens day-to-day operations in the field.
Travel is a major element, with the person typically away 50 to 75 percent of the year. Responsibilities include putting in equipment alone or alongside outside installers, delivering on-site customer instruction, supporting pilots and trials, processing return authorizations, and serving as the lead local contact for major rollouts. Observations from fieldwork are passed to Motive's Field Engineering group to help improve products.
Candidates need substantial experience installing, servicing and repairing technical equipment, preferably in automotive or adjacent fields, plus a solid understanding of vehicle wiring, electrical systems and schematic diagrams. Demonstrated hands-on work installing connected devices and aftermarket electronics at volume is required.
