Job Description
Motive is hiring a Lead FP&A Analyst for its GTM Finance group, where the analyst serves as an embedded finance advisor to go-to-market leaders. The role turns performance results into clear insight, supports planning and forecasts, and helps leaders weigh growth, efficiency, capacity, and investment decisions. The position is on-site in the United States.
The analyst is accountable for monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts for assigned GTM functions and runs budget-versus-actual reviews that explain the drivers behind variances. The analyst maintains models that track headcount, operating spend, and other go-to-market investment, and works with functional heads to shape yearly plans, quarterly outlook updates, and what-if scenarios. Executive-ready packs for operating reviews and board-related requests are part of the output.
The job calls for a working understanding of go-to-market measures such as pipeline, retention, churn, implementation volume, and sales productivity. The analyst reconciles finance and operations data across systems, corrects data quality gaps, supports headcount and hiring analysis, and builds dashboards and automated planning routines that make results easier to act on.
Applicants need four or more years in FP&A, corporate finance, banking, advisory work, business operations, or another analytical field, with strong modeling skills and advanced Excel and Google Sheets ability. HEX experience is a plus. The posting lists these pay ranges: $107,000 to $148,000 USD in San Francisco, $93,000 to $128,000 USD in the New York City and Seattle areas, and $93,000 to $128,000 USD in other US locations.
