Job Description
Monzo is hiring a Lead Product Designer for its Growth collective, with a focus on web experiences. The role can be done remotely within the UK or from London on a hybrid basis. The header gives a salary of £90,000 to £120,000 plus incentive awards, while the compensation section of the same posting lists £90,000 to £110,000. Monzo's design function has more than 115 people across design, research and brand, led by its Chief Design Officer.
Growth focuses on helping additional people find Monzo, see what differentiates it and locate suitable products. The lead would craft polished web journeys that show new and current customers what Monzo can offer before they download the app. The work pairs visual and interaction design with data, using experiments and customer insight to learn what works. The lead would turn business and customer problems into hypotheses, design tests, and use the results to decide next steps. The role also involves defining product visions that give a coherent long-term experience, using AI across the design workflow, and working alongside product, engineering, data and research teammates.
The posting does not require prior work in a dedicated growth team. It is written for designers interested in how customers behave, comfortable using data to inform decisions, and keen to apply strong craft to high-impact journeys. Candidates need a portfolio of high-quality web design, the ability to connect design work to measurable outcomes, and the judgement to decide when to act fast and when to spend time on finish.
The posting also asks the lead to mentor others and to share work across the design team. The interview process has a 30-minute recruiter call, a one-hour craft interview in which one case study is presented to two designers, and two 45-minute interviews on teamwork and impact. The posting says the process usually takes about four weeks. Relocation help, visa sponsorship and a learning allowance of £1,000 a year are also offered.
