Job Description
Databricks is hiring a Lead Solutions Architect focused on Generative AI for its EMEA Emerging DNB unit. The role is based in the United Kingdom, with the posting allowing remote or hybrid work in London or elsewhere in the UK. The unit serves companies that were born digital or built on the cloud and that adopt generative AI early and scale quickly. The person becomes the go-to technical expert when a GenAI or large language model idea has to turn into a production system.
The architect serves as the technical specialist for generative AI and applied machine learning across the unit's strategic accounts. The work involves coordinating with fellow architects, engineers and account teams in scoping work that reduces risk for use cases such as retrieval-augmented generation, agents, fine-tuning and evaluation. The role builds working prototypes and reference builds on the Databricks platform, including Mosaic AI, MLflow, model serving endpoints, Vector Search and Unity Catalog. It also leads model customization on open LLMs, uses judge-based evaluation where quality and safety matter, feeds field feedback to product and engineering teams, and coaches the wider field group. External speaking, blogs and customer executive briefings are part of the job.
Candidates should understand the LLM landscape well enough to compare providers and models and to give a clear point of view. Expected skills include the modern GenAI stack, machine learning and deep learning foundations, distributed training, MLOps, and proficiency in Python with PyTorch, Transformers, MLflow and Spark. Prior Databricks work is expected, or the aptitude to pick it up rapidly, and cloud experience on AWS, Azure or GCP is required. Public speaking, open-source work and experience in regulated sectors are additional strengths. The posting does not state a salary range.

Qualifications
- Visible technical profile via talks, blogs or open-source work (a plus)
- Domain depth in a regulated sector such as healthcare, life sciences or financial services (a plus)
