The company seeks a recent graduate for a full-time Machine Learning Engineer position starting in early 2027. This role involves developing language model applications and agentic workflows to handle abuse patterns and moderate platform content. Practitioners collaborate with senior staff to build, evaluate, and scale production systems.
Qualified individuals must be available for meetings during coordination hours from Monday through Friday between 9 AM and 3 PM Pacific Time. Compensation for US applicants ranges from $107,360 to $152,900 annually alongside equity and benefits, with distinct pay scales applicable for Canadian locations.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy language model powered agents to address policy-violating content
- Develop agentic workflows to automate tasks and improve content moderation efficiency
- Create and refine machine learning systems that adapt to emerging abuse patterns
- Assess agent performance via offline testing, online experiments, and production monitoring
- Examine failure cases and iterate on solutions to enhance system effectiveness
- Find new applications for machine learning and language models regarding content safety
- Partner with experienced engineers to own projects from early development to production
Requirements
- Available for meetings and communication during coordination hours from Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm Pacific Time
- Completed or in-progress Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Solid understanding of the mathematical foundations behind machine learning algorithms
- Academic coursework, research, or project exposure involving language model applications or transformer architectures
- Proficiency in Python
- Demonstrated passion for continuous learning and self-improvement
- Ability to commence full-time employment in early 2027
Qualifications
- Prior software engineering background via internships, work experience, open-source contributions, or coding competitions
- Practical background constructing and testing language model agents in projects, research, internships, or production settings
- Frequent utilization of AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or Codex
- Academic coursework or projects focused on natural language processing
- Demonstrated interest in content quality and safety
