Job Description
Jobber makes software that helps small home service businesses, such as plumbers, painters and landscapers, run their operations. Its fintech division is one of the company's fastest-growing areas, supporting Jobber Payments today and a planned lending business.
The Manager, Credit Risk leads and develops a group of credit risk analysts and runs the day-to-day work of the credit risk function. Responsibilities span credit approvals and exposure limits, watching the portfolio, forecasting losses and reporting how credit behaves. The manager works alongside data science and risk analytics colleagues to develop, test and refine scorecard work, statistical models and ML methods, and partners with fintech, product and support teams so that credit policies and controls live inside customer-facing workflows. The role also includes creating a provisioning and reserving practice under IFRS 9 or an equivalent GAAP standard, with finance and accounting. The posting frames the job as building a new function, with automation and AI used to tackle new credit problems rather than simply speeding up existing steps.
Applicants need a proven credit risk background across lending, payments and financial technology, including experience leading people. Proficiency in SQL and Python is expected, along with a working understanding of logistic regression, decision trees and gradient boosting. Familiarity with IFRS 9 or CECL is required, or the ability to learn it quickly. Candidates can be located anywhere in Canada. Staff in the hub cities of Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver and Kitchener-Waterloo follow an in-office schedule, and others work remotely. The posted pay band runs from $121,000 to $163,600 per year, and the middle of the band is $142,200.
