Natera is currently seeking a Manager of Data Engineering & Delivery to lead a team within its Data Science Production Engineering department. This remote position offers a salary range of USD 127,200 to 159,000 per year. Natera functions as a global leader in precision medicine, genomics testing, and cell-free DNA diagnostics, with a focus on oncology, women’s health, and organ health.
In this role, the manager will guide a team responsible for data infrastructure, ingestion solutions, ETL pipelines, and delivery systems handling large-scale petabyte-level datasets. The position requires direct collaboration with Lab Operations, Genetic Counselors, and Lab Directors to supply accurate data products that ultimately influence patient medical outcomes. Professionals joining Natera will work alongside diverse teams of statisticians, scientists, and engineers dedicated to personalizing genetic testing and diagnostics.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Data Engineering & Delivery team to create and maintain data infrastructure, ETL pipelines, ingestion solutions, and delivery systems
- Translate business needs and project requirements into technical specifications, design documents, and implementation plans
- Participate directly in development, testing, deployment, validation, maintenance, and update activities for data products and tools
- Establish, improve, and enforce operational procedures focused on compliance, quality, and efficiency
- Coach and train team members on new technologies, guidelines, and best practices
- Collaborate directly with internal and external stakeholders to align development roadmaps, resolve dependencies, and track performance metrics
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience for candidates holding a Master's degree
- Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience for candidates holding a Doctorate degree
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in a highly regulated environment such as CLIA or FDA compliant settings
- Minimum 2 years of management experience leading a Data Engineering, Data Production/Delivery, or Data Analytics team
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python programming languages
- Strong SQL skills for developing queries to extract or aggregate data from complex sources
- Proficiency in building data products including aggregation, extraction, transformation, and quality control
- Proficiency in Git workflow and version control tools like GitHub or GitLab
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Management Science, Operational Research, or a related field
- Doctorate degree in a relevant field
- Proficiency in the R programming language
- Experience with data visualization tools including Tableau, Power BI, and AWS QuickSight
- Familiarity with dbt
- Working knowledge of genomics, bioinformatics workflows, and human genetics
- Experience working with healthcare data, electronic health records, and clinical terminology
