Job Description

Toptal, a fully remote network of business, design and technology specialists, is hiring a Marketing Analyst who sits in its Business Analytics Center of Excellence. The analyst will build and run the marketing data foundation for newly launched ventures and for firms Toptal acquires. Paid media results are converted into lifetime value and return-on-ad-spend figures that guide where budget goes and which channels to use.

The job spans the full data chain. The analyst configures tracking across analytics, search advertising and other paid platforms, maps each marketing journey to its data flow from ad view and click through to lead and sale, and brings acquired companies' marketing data into the same reporting standard. Core definitions such as LTV, ROAS and payback must be unified across all businesses. Descriptive and diagnostic analysis, forecasting, model-building and testing are part of the work.

Stakeholders expect answers that go beyond the question asked, so the analyst must provide a clear recommendation. Opportunities to improve conversion, cost efficiency, operations and tooling should be flagged proactively. The analyst coordinates with the business analyst for new businesses and the senior analyst focused on acquisitions, linking marketing results to revenue and the wider business. AI assistants help the analyst work faster and automate reports. Within the first year, a repeatable process for onboarding acquired companies' marketing data should exist.

Applicants need a bachelor's degree and at least three years in analytics, data analysis or BI, focused on marketing. They must have analysed paid advertising results and expressed them as LTV, CAC and ROAS, and built or owned marketing data infrastructure covering tracking, attribution and pipelines. A quantitative background in a science or finance discipline, SQL, and experience with BI software such as Tableau, Qlik or Power BI are required. Hands-on use of generative AI tools is required. No visa sponsorship is offered, and applications must be submitted in English.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain marketing data infrastructure from ad impressions and clicks through to revenue
  • Set up tracking and attribution across Google Analytics and Google Ads, plus other paid channels
  • Assess and integrate marketing data from newly acquired companies
  • Measure paid channel performance across CAC, funnel conversion, ROAS and LTV
  • Define consistent metrics and map marketing processes to data flows
  • Build forecasts, models and experiments that inform budget and channel decisions
  • Partner with business analysts to connect marketing performance to revenue and unit economics
  • Apply generative AI assistants to speed up analytical work and streamline reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 3 years in data analysis, analytics or BI with a marketing focus
  • Experience analysing paid advertising performance and turning it into LTV, CAC and ROAS
  • History of constructing or managing marketing data infrastructure
  • Quantitative training in a science, engineering or finance field, combined with sound business judgement
  • SQL proficiency and experience with BI tools
  • Hands-on use of generative AI tools
  • Capacity to handle varied stakeholders and competing demands

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or MBA
  • R, Python or MATLAB
  • Practical grounding in probability and statistics
  • Experience in startups, early-stage businesses or M&A integration
  • Process improvement experience
