Canonical seeks candidates for general track opportunities across various seniority levels within its Sales and Alliances departments. This enterprise serves leading public cloud providers, silicon vendors, and organizations across diverse industry sectors globally.
As a pioneer in distributed collaboration, the business employs over 1200 team members spanning more than 75 countries with predominantly remote arrangements. Personnel gather in person globally two to four times annually for strategic alignment. Sales and Alliances professionals manage direct customer portfolios, negotiate commercial terms, and collaborate alongside marketing, product, legal, and engineering divisions to foster revenue expansion and marketplace growth.

Responsibilities
- Manage books of business to enable go-to-market partners, hardware vendors, software vendors, solutions integrators, and distributors
- Drive business opportunities, channel expansion, and revenue growth alongside direct sales and alliances leadership
- Own direct customer accounts to maintain and grow relationships resulting in mutually beneficial engagements
- Design customer solutions that improve efficiency and solve complex technical problems
- Align with internal field teams, marketing, sales engineering, and product management to hit targets and objectives
- Organize executive interlocks connecting partners and customers with internal company leadership
- Travel domestically and internationally to meet clients, build partnerships, and attend biannual company events
Requirements
- Demonstrated revenue-generating experience within the technology industry
- Familiarity with Linux and open source software ecosystems
- Background in negotiating commercial contracts and business terms
- Professional written and spoken English proficiency along with presentation skills
- Ability to travel internationally up to twice a year for company events lasting up to two weeks, plus regular client and partner visits
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline or an alternative chosen path with a compelling narrative
