Oscar Medical Group seeks a Virtual Urgent Care Physician for a full-time remote role working evening hours from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM ET. This position requires a rotating shift of one full weekend every four weeks. In this role, the physician delivers evidence-based, compassionate care to health plan members using written, audio, and video formats. Daily duties involve managing patient interactions, coordinating with multidisciplinary care teams, and utilizing remote monitoring and diagnostic tooling. The position requires candidates to reside in specific states, though occasional travel for company events and team meetings may be necessary.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care in a virtual environment via video, audio, and text communication
- Partner with advanced practice leads and physicians on complex patient cases
- Review and follow up on lab results, imaging, and closed-loop patient communication
- Utilize digital tooling including remote monitoring devices and point-of-care diagnostics
- Engage in collaborative care models involving registered nurses, primary care physicians, and behavioral health clinicians
- Attend required service line meetings, huddles, case conferences, and all-hands gatherings
- Contribute feedback to enhance product features and operational workflows
Requirements
- Possess an MD or DO degree from an accredited program
- Hold Board Certification in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
- Bring at least three years of experience in an emergency department or outpatient urgent care setting
- Have a minimum of two years of telemedicine or virtual care delivery experience
- Maintain active medical licenses in Florida and Tennessee along with an active IMLC
- Hold an IMLCC compact license or be eligible for one
- Comply with all relevant laws and regulations
Qualifications
- Willingness to obtain additional state licenses with assistance from the employer
- Ability and willingness to secure licensure in specified Oscar Medical Group states
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish
