Job Description
Turing is hiring a Platform Engineer - Enterprise AI to join its team in New York near Madison Square Park. This position requires regular in-office presence as part of a hybrid work model. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the successful candidate will build and operate the foundational components of Turing’s Enterprise AI platform, including platform services, multi-tenant infrastructure, deployment tooling, and the model gateway.
Turing collaborates with prominent AI labs to develop high-quality datasets, reinforcement learning environments, and benchmarks, while also helping Fortune 500 enterprises deploy agentic AI systems into mission-critical workflows. In this engineering role, the primary challenge is establishing repeatable deployments across various environments that Turing may not directly control, such as client cloud accounts, dedicated instances, and sovereign installations.
This role is designed for hands-on software engineers rather than traditional cloud operations or ticket-queue DevOps professionals. Candidates must be capable of writing production software, participating in on-call rotations, managing incident responses, and collaborating closely with team members to ensure the platform remains reliable, observable, and maintainable.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate core platform infrastructure and the model gateway services
- Create reliable deployment systems for client cloud accounts, dedicated instances, and sovereign environments
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and deployment tooling utilizing Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform or Pulumi, and GitOps practices
- Design systems supporting secure multi-tenant operation, service ownership, and operational accountability
- Establish comprehensive platform observability via service-level objectives, structured logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting
- Develop telemetry tools to track model and compute costs by tenant
- Participate in on-call operations and incident response procedures
Requirements
- Six or more years of platform or infrastructure engineering experience supporting production SaaS
- Experience shipping products that customers run in their own environments, including VPCs, self-hosted setups, or air-gapped systems
- Deep expertise in at least one backend programming language such as Go, Ruby, Python, or TypeScript, with the ability to read and work across the others
- Extensive experience in at least one cloud platform and familiarity with a second, covering private networking, KMS, IAM, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform or Pulumi, and GitOps
- Experience carrying a pager, running incident response, and utilizing observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Datadog
- Familiarity with Postgres, object storage, queues, and vector stores
Qualifications
- Experience with model serving and model gateways including vLLM, LiteLLM, or Triton
- Experience implementing SOC 2 controls within CI pipelines
- Experience deploying and operating artificial intelligence systems in regulated or highly controlled environments
