The organization is currently hiring a remote, full-time Principal Product Manager, AI Software Factory. In this prominent role, the individual will shape and execute the product vision for the end-to-end software creation journey, spanning from planning and specification to coding, review, and verification. The position suits a strategic product leader capable of uniting features across the GitLab Duo Agent Platform and other product areas to establish a cohesive user experience.
Responsibilities include establishing product strategy, coordinating across engineering, design, and go-to-market groups, identifying gaps within the agent platform, and presenting strategic recommendations to executive leadership. Candidates need principal-level product management background, familiarity with the software development lifecycle, experience working with artificial intelligence or developer tools, and strong technical and design instincts. Responsibilities
- Define the product vision and strategy for the end-to-end software factory experience
- Integrate planning, specification, coding, review, and verification workflows into a unified product experience
- Partner with engineering, product, design, and go-to-market teams to align on priorities and execution
- Identify gaps, dependencies, and opportunities across the GitLab Duo Agent Platform and related product areas
- Apply product and design judgment to simplify complex workflows for customers
- Build alignment for product decisions through cross-functional collaboration and negotiation
- Deliver product direction, tradeoff analysis, and recommendations to senior and executive leadership
- Contribute to the go-to-market strategy for the software factory vision
Requirements
- Product management experience at a principal scope leading complex products or experiences across multiple teams
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end software development lifecycle from planning to verification
- Experience with artificial intelligence products, developer tools, DevSecOps platforms, or related technical solutions
- Technical judgment that supports collaboration with engineering teams and informed decision-making
- Product design and user experience instincts with the ability to connect separate capabilities into a coherent experience
- Cross-functional influence and the ability to drive work forward without direct authority
- Clear communication and presentation abilities for engaging with executive leadership
- Ownership mindset with the capacity to navigate ambiguity in a fast-changing product area
