Wise seeks a Privacy Operations Lead to direct the daily tasks of global privacy operations, ensuring adherence to data regulations while streamlining internal processes. In this full-time on-site role, the selected professional will manage teams handling data subject rights requests, vendor privacy due diligence, records of processing activities, and risk reporting.
The position requires collaboration with legal, product, engineering, security, and customer service departments to remove roadblocks and scale operations. Ideal candidates possess a strong background in privacy or legal operations, coaching experience, and familiarity with major data protection frameworks such as GDPR and CCPA.

Responsibilities
- Manage the team processing data subject rights requests to ensure healthy queues and statutory compliance
- Coach staff members to build their skills and support career progression
- Enhance workflows, quality assurance checks, templates, and tooling to handle growing volumes with less manual effort
- Conduct privacy due diligence for vendor and commercial partners alongside periodic risk reassessments
- Perform periodic quality assurance of GDPR records of processing activities
- Partner with technical teams to reflect infrastructure changes in records and maintain audit trails for reviews
- Compile and supply operational data for privacy risk reporting aimed at executive leadership and oversight boards
- Serve as the main operational contact for Privacy Counsel when handling complex or high-risk matters
Requirements
- Bring at least five years of experience in data governance, legal operations, or privacy operations
- Demonstrate experience managing and coaching personnel who handle data subject rights requests
- Apply working knowledge of UK GDPR, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and related privacy regulations to daily tasks
- Transform operational data into clear metrics and risk reports for senior stakeholders
- Utilize workflow and privacy tools including Jira, Zendesk, and Twilio while navigating complex data systems
- Draft technical requirements to increase automation within privacy operations
- Navigate a fast-paced setting by establishing priorities, refining processes, and resolving complex cases
Qualifications
- Hold a CIPP/E, CIPM, or CIPT credential
- Gain prior background in the financial technology, technology, or other regulated industries
- Possess data analytics expertise
