The firm is currently seeking a Product Communications Manager to drive external storytelling across its core platform, agent stack, and open-source portfolio.
This position requires an individual capable of turning complex engineering updates and product releases into compelling narratives tailored for the market, press, and developer communities. The professional in this role will collaborate closely with engineering, product, content, and communications leadership. Reporting to the Head of Communications, the chosen candidate will work out of the San Francisco office, maintaining in-office anchor days on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.
The role suits an experienced communicator with a background in developer tools or technical products who can craft authentic messaging without relying on corporate marketing jargon. Candidates will manage multi-channel strategies, support open-source ecosystems, elevate executive and maintainer profiles, and coordinate community programming alongside cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage external communications for product updates across the agent stack and core platform
- Oversee public relations and messaging for open-source frameworks with a primary focus on Next.js
- Develop thought leadership narratives explaining how company offerings fit into the broader infrastructure landscape
- Partner with content engineering to create owned and social content campaigns for commercial and developer audiences
- Monitor the open-source community to identify engagement opportunities, amplify contributors, and respond to key moments
- Coordinate with the community team on programming, conferences, and activations
- Build the public thought leadership profiles of product leadership and open-source maintainers
Requirements
- Possess six to eight years of professional background in public relations, communications, or product marketing
- Demonstrate direct exposure to technical products, infrastructure, or developer tools
- Show the ability to translate technical concepts into effective narratives for the market and developers
- Demonstrate comfort working directly with engineers, product managers, and technical leaders
- Show experience managing multi-channel and cross-functional programs targeted at developer audiences
- Work from the San Francisco office with required in-office days on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays
Qualifications
- Familiarity with the JavaScript and frontend ecosystem including Next.js, runtimes, frameworks, and adjacent tooling
- Fluency in open-source culture and an understanding of what motivates contributors and maintainers
- Prior experience contributing to or participating actively in an open-source community as a maintainer or participant
- Interest in and proficiency with utilizing agents within personal workflows
