Alpaca is seeking a remote Product Manager for its Digital Assets and Crypto team. As a global provider of agent-first brokerage infrastructure, Alpaca supports numerous financial institutions and accounts worldwide with API-driven financial services. The company is backed by prominent investors and operates with a distributed workforce across multiple countries.
In this role, you will take ownership of regulated cryptocurrency trading and yield operations, which encompass spot and perpetual exchanges, stablecoin funding mechanisms, and staking features. You will collaborate closely with engineering, legal, compliance, and partnership teams to deliver scalable crypto infrastructure while anticipating shifting regulatory policies. Ideal candidates possess a strong grasp of crypto market structures, developer-focused API design, and experience navigating regulated financial environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage the spot crypto exchange product features, including order types, asset pair coverage, jurisdictional availability, and partner interfaces.
- Establish integrations with custodians and liquidity providers to secure funding and market depth.
- Oversee stablecoin funding processes for regulated assets such as USDC.
- Engage with institutional platforms, neobrokers, and fintech partners to identify their cryptocurrency requirements.
- Incorporate new networks and supported coins based on custodian readiness and partner demand.
- Design staking, lending, and earn products while adhering to operational and regulatory limitations.
- Develop developer-centric crypto APIs, SDKs, reference implementations, and documentation updates.
- Execute the product strategy for crypto perpetual futures.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in engineering, product management, or startup operations within crypto exchanges, brokerage, market making, custody, or financial infrastructure.
- Demonstrated expertise in production-scale crypto product areas such as spot trading, custody wallets, funding rails, staking, or derivatives.
- Thorough understanding of cryptocurrency market mechanics including order books, liquidity providers, spreads, slippage, and settlement.
- Experience launching products within regulated settings alongside legal, compliance, and risk teams.
- Proven capability to conduct partner and customer discovery to build prioritized product roadmaps.
- Utilize AI-native workflows as part of daily operational tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, finance, or a related discipline.
- Prior employment background at a broker-dealer, crypto exchange, custodian, market maker, or institutional crypto provider.
- Experience designing developer-focused crypto APIs for algorithmic traders, quants, and automated systems.
- Familiarity with the operational and regulatory parameters of staking, earn products, and perpetual futures.
- Combined background in traditional regulated financial products and native crypto infrastructure.
