Gusto is looking for a Product Marketing Leader - Innovation & Experimentation to join its hybrid team in New York. Gusto operates a platform that manages payroll, health benefits, retirement accounts, and human resources for over half a million small businesses across the United States. In this role, the professional will join a newly created Experimentation team tasked with establishing product-market fit, testing demand, and developing early-stage go-to-market strategies for brand-new offerings before they transition to established product marketing pods. This position requires someone who can seamlessly transition between high-level strategic planning and hands-on operational execution.
The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in ambiguous environments without established playbooks, using artificial intelligence tools relevant to the discipline, and collaborating closely with cross-functional partners in product, sales, and growth. Team members working out of the New York office are expected to report to the workplace approximately two to three days per week. Full-time personnel receive base pay, employee equity, and comprehensive benefits as part of the total rewards structure.
Responsibilities
- Design and direct go-to-market strategies across multiple product sectors in partnership with growth, product, and marketing divisions.
- Examine market research, usage metrics, and customer feedback to uncover new business opportunities and direct tactical planning.
- Establish clear performance indicators, monitor initiative success, and lead ongoing optimizations to improve results over time.
- Facilitate alignment and accountability across product, sales, marketing, and customer experience teams while creating novel operational processes.
Requirements
- Demonstrated background shaping go-to-market strategies within ambiguous or early-stage environments such as zero-to-one products and new markets.
- Strong proficiency in moving between strategic planning and direct operational execution with a bias toward action.
- Advanced cross-functional collaboration and communication skills with the ability to influence multiple departments.
- Substantial expertise covering customer segmentation, pricing models, product positioning, and go-to-market planning.
- High fluency in artificial intelligence tools with the capability to build AI systems and improve workflows.
