The manager provides account leadership for Canonical's major Tier 1 enterprise cloud customers. Working with people from software engineering up to senior executives, they run several large corporate projects at once, help shape statements of work and comparable contracts, and guide each project from start to finish so that both Canonical and the customer reach their goals. The role includes regular progress meetings with customers, plus advice on which company technologies fit each need.
Core duties are keeping programmes on schedule and within scope, cost, budget and resourcing, spotting key technical and project risks early, and putting mitigation in place. The manager tracks delivery dates for critical third-party work and handles requests from across the organisation for engineering work that sits outside current contracts.

Responsibilities

Requirements
- Experience in cloud IT delivering software projects as a project lead, programme manager, agile lead or scrum master
- Solid grasp of Linux, open source software and cloud platforms
- Software engineering experience
- Clear English communication, spoken and written
- Experience directing mixed-culture, distributed teams and client relationships worldwide
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Readiness to travel within the country and abroad
Qualifications
- Undergraduate qualification in a science, technology, engineering or maths field
- PMP or a comparable project management credential is a plus
- A Scrum Master or similar agile credential is a plus
