Job Description
This full-time, on-site Regional Vice President job in the United States leads a mid-market general business team at Elastic, a company that sells search, security and observability software. The leader is expected to grow both existing and new customer accounts by setting up a sales approach the team can repeat and scale. The segment is presented as high-potential, and the ideal candidate is a seasoned sales leader who has run mid-market teams and wants to help users tackle hard problems with search.
The Regional Vice President oversees mid-market Account Executives and works to surpass their bookings targets. The leader builds a working knowledge of the product platform, messaging, the partner network and the competitive landscape. The job also includes owning the creation of sales plans, the design of pay structures and the definition of customer segments. The leader makes sure assigned quotas are reached, sets the pace in applying Elastic's sales methodology, and promotes a culture of openness, creative thinking, collaboration and ongoing improvement. Relationships with open source contributors and partner representatives are part of the role. Regular travel supports deal creation, closing and the team's management needs, and the leader partners with other Elastic leaders so the customer experience stays consistent.
Applicants should have a proven background in running mid-market sales groups and in building and running a sales approach that scales. Analytical ability, data-led decisions and the skill to create sales processes and frameworks are important. The person should do well in a quick-moving, technical client acquisition setting, have a steady history of helping teams exceed quota, and bring SaaS sales leadership experience and an entrepreneurial outlook. Exposure to open source business models is a plus. The typical starting base range is 170,000 to 240,000 USD, the target variable range is 113,200 to 160,000 USD, and the on-target earnings range is 283,200 to 400,000 USD, with a 60/40 split between base and variable pay. Benefits include an employer 401k matching of one dollar for every dollar contributed, up to 6 percent of eligible earnings, and eligibility for the stock program.
