Job Description
This full-time role is a Regional Vice President position on Elastic's mid-market general business team in the United States. Elastic builds search, security and observability products, and the job focuses on a segment the company regards as high-potential. The leader is asked to deliver growth from both existing and new accounts by putting in place a sales motion that can be repeated and scaled across the team. The posting targets an experienced sales leader who has managed mid-market teams and wants to solve tough customer problems with search technology.
The leader guides a group of mid-market Account Executives toward bookings goals. Duties include becoming well versed in the technology platform, product messaging, partner network and competitor landscape. The Regional Vice President also takes ownership of sales plans, pay structures and customer segmentation, and makes sure sellers hit quota by setting the example in Elastic's sales methodology. The leader encourages openness, creative thinking, collaboration and steady improvement, and builds connections with open source contributors and with partner organizations. Travel is expected for deal work and management support. The leader also coordinates across Elastic's leadership to keep the customer journey smooth.
Applicants should bring a history of leading mid-market sales groups and of developing a sales plan that can be repeated and grown. Strong analytical ability, decisions based on data and experience building sales processes are important. The candidate should be comfortable in a quick-moving, technical client acquisition setting, have a record of helping teams beat their quotas, and have SaaS sales leadership experience. An entrepreneurial approach is expected. Exposure to open source business models is a bonus. The typical starting base range is 170,000 to 240,000 USD, with a target variable range of 113,200 to 160,000 USD and on-target earnings of 283,200 to 400,000 USD. Pay is split 60 percent base and 40 percent variable, and the posting also describes an employer 401k matching of one dollar for every dollar contributed, up to 6 percent of eligible earnings, plus eligibility for the stock program.
