Job Description
This full-time, on-site Revenue Manager role is based in India and reports to the Director of Revenue at Elastic. The position supports the close at the end of each month and quarter, keeps non-standard contracts compliant with ASC 606, and helps improve the company's revenue setup. The posting presents the role as a key part of finance operations at a software company that sells search, security and observability products. Candidates need eight to ten years in revenue accounting and operations, ideally in software or SaaS.
Responsibilities include managing the full close cycle in Zuora RevPro and NetSuite so the close stays predictable and on time. The manager reviews non-standard customer agreements to decide revenue recognition, performance obligations and correct system setup. The role also covers reporting on deferred revenue, remaining performance obligations, current RPO and unbilled receivables, along with month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year flux analysis, currency impacts, and moves between short-term and long-term deferred revenue. Other tasks include running system health check queries to protect revenue data, leading user acceptance testing for new product introductions and pricing changes, and working alongside IT and transformation groups to fix upstream data gaps.
The manager also looks for automation that shortens close cycles and streamlines RevPro workflows, and owns the key internal controls covering the system, the month-end close and financial reporting. Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree that is required in finance or accounting, or in a closely related subject. They should have over two years of ASC 606 compliance and contract review work, over three years with enterprise revenue automation tools, and at least two years running the full revenue close cycle. Experience with complex contract reviews, deferred revenue and RPO reporting, and user acceptance testing is expected. Experience using Gemini or Claude for process automation is desirable.
