Job Description

Canonical is hiring a Sales Operations Analyst for its Revenue Operations team. The job is full-time and remote, covering EMEA and the Americas. The team coordinates the direct, alliance, channel-partner and web sales motions across the world. It works on policy, process and data quality, with the goal of protecting revenue and keeping customers on board.

The analyst helps the team's leaders by producing insights that lead to improvements. The role works with a wide set of groups, including finance, legal, delivery, commercial systems, product management, marketing, customer success, business development and sales. The post calls for an analytical and careful person who takes initiative and aims high.

Day-to-day operations are a large part of the role. The analyst supports sales and business development worldwide, checks opportunities for accuracy, keeps orders flowing cleanly, and helps onboard new hires. Writing up policies and processes, building reports, and tidying data are also in scope.

The analyst helps the global sales team use its CRM and revenue tools, including platforms for sales engagement, training and enablement, data enrichment, price quoting, analytics and commission tracking. Reports, dashboards and ad hoc analysis are produced for the team and its leaders on new leads, pipeline, sales speed, productivity and renewals.

Analysis extends to territory and quota planning, channel growth and sales productivity. The analyst also helps automate and streamline the full lead-to-order path.

Applicants should have an excellent academic record and ideally a degree in a STEM subject or in economics, or a persuasive alternative. Work as an analyst in revenue or sales operations, financial analysis, sales analysis or order handling is expected. Precision, a methodical approach, and strong communication and negotiation skills are needed, along with composure under commercial pressure. Professional English and willingness to fly abroad up to four times annually are also required.

  • Support daily sales and business development operations across regions
  • Check opportunities for accuracy and keep order processing clean
  • Improve data quality through cleanup and reporting
  • Help train new hires and write policy and process documentation
  • Support sales teams with CRM and revenue tools, including commissions and quoting
  • Build reports, dashboards and ad hoc analysis on leads, pipeline, velocity and renewals
  • Provide insight on territory and quota planning, channel growth and productivity
  • Help automate and streamline the lead-to-order process

Requirements

  • Excellent academic record from school and university
  • Track record as an analyst in revenue or sales operations, financial analysis, sales analysis or order handling
  • Drive and a history of exceeding what is asked
  • Precision, with analytical and problem-solving skill grounded in data
  • Methodical, scalable approach aimed at repeatable results
  • Planning and organizational skill, including working with stakeholders at every level
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Professional English, written and spoken, with polished presentation skills
  • Willingness to fly abroad up to four times annually for corporate events

  • Degree in a STEM subject or in economics
  • Experience in a subscription-based technology business
  • Experience working in a global, multicultural team across several time zones
