Job Description
This Security Operations Centre Specialist II position is based in Hyderabad, full-time and on-site. It is part of the Information Security team, which defends the systems and information of DoorDash, Deliveroo and Wolt, including data about staff, customers, riders and partners. The unit responds to incidents, watches for new cyber threats and helps colleagues build secure habits.
The specialist covers a round-the-clock security operations centre that runs worldwide. Duties include night and weekend rota shifts and on-call cover for severe incidents. The post acts as first-line defence: examining and triaging live alerts for phishing, malware, network intrusion and privacy events against agreed response times. For medium and high priority alerts the specialist becomes the primary contact, offers hands-on direction and escalates where necessary.
The role also contributes to security playbooks and to AI-supported runbooks that automate alert triage. It supports larger investigations with threat intelligence and incident response and digital forensics colleagues, helps design SOAR workflows that speed up handling, and takes part in awareness campaigns that encourage staff to report incidents.
Applicants should have four to six years in a SOC, a record of closing high-priority alerts by finding underlying causes, and practical use of monitoring tools. Specific skills include AWS security configuration, SOAR, EDR and XDR, Splunk and SQL querying, and a solid grasp of cloud security standards plus compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIS2, GDPR and PCI DSS. Coordination with central security teams in the US, UK and EU is part of the job.
Responsibilities
- Staff the 24/7 global operations centre, including nights, weekends and on-call duty
- Triage and investigate live alerts within defined response times
- Serve as main contact for medium and high severity alerts
- Contribute to playbooks and AI-supported triage runbooks
- Support investigations with threat intelligence and incident response teams
- Help build SOAR workflows and awareness initiatives
- Handle low and medium incidents and coach security analysts
- Coordinate with central security teams in the US, UK and EU
Requirements
- Four to six years in a SOC, closing high-priority alerts through root cause analysis
- Hands-on use of monitoring platforms and live alert triage
- Practical AWS security configuration, SOAR, EDR and XDR, Splunk and SQL
- Solid knowledge of cloud security configuration, particularly on AWS
- Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIS2, GDPR and PCI DSS
- Ability to support detection logic tuning as a technical lead
- Collaborative and eager to share knowledge
