Dandy is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its remote team and take charge of critical components within the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. This position reports directly to the Assistant Controller and operates within a dedicated accounting unit that supports international entities, two US manufacturing labs, and growing transaction volume. Dandy is a technology company building an operating system to modernize the dental sector globally by connecting labs, materials, equipment, shipping, and personnel. The ideal candidate possesses an operational background and understands how physical business activities reflect in financial records.
In this capacity, the professional will manage prepaid expenses, accrued costs, operating expense coding, general ledger upkeep, intercompany entries, and consolidation workflows. Key duties involve preparing journal entries with proper support, performing balance sheet reconciliations, executing variance analyses, and addressing root-cause coding errors within source systems like payroll, procurement, and billing. Additional responsibilities include documenting financial controls, assisting with annual audits, collaborating with the tax team on transfer pricing entries, and automating manual close steps in NetSuite. This position suits an organized, detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving capabilities who communicates effectively across both finance and operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage schedules for prepaid expenses, accrued costs, and operational expenditures such as contractor, software, and professional fees
- Develop and post journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing cycles with documentation for accruals, estimates, and allocations
- Record intercompany transactions and assist with consolidation across domestic and global business units
- Partner with the tax department to complete quarterly transfer pricing entries
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and clear discrepancies prior to closing
- Generate flux analyses and present monthly financial results to the Assistant Controller and FP and A
- Trace coding errors back to originating systems including billing, purchasing, and payroll to resolve issues at the source
- Maintain process documentation, accounting policies, and internal controls for annual audits
- Compile audit schedules and address inquiries from external auditors
- Automate manual closing tasks utilizing NetSuite and associated platforms
Requirements
- Three or more years of experience operating as a Senior Accountant, or at least five years of progressive accounting background
- Prior work experience within an operational environment such as manufacturing, distribution, healthcare services, logistics, or multi-site businesses
- Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, account reconciliations, and accruals
- Advanced proficiency in Excel with the ability to manage large data sets
- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve root causes in upstream business processes
- Strong organizational skills and the capacity to meet strict deadlines
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent field
- Experience with inventory, cost, or manufacturing accounting
- Familiarity with multi-entity and multi-currency financial operations
- Prior hands-on use of NetSuite
- Background in public accounting or auditing
- Active CPA credential or working toward CPA candidacy
- Familiarity with business intelligence applications such as Looker
