Responsibilities
- Design and construct Android applications for the Digital Twin Platform
- Build standalone scanning tools and native experiences for Connected Stores programs
- Act as the technical leader for Android development by setting architectural direction and code standards
- Collaborate with Caper, Inventory Intelligence, and Fulfillment teams to deliver scalable inventory data collection
- Navigate an ambiguous environment while balancing long-term design with rapid shipping cycles
- Contribute to the definition of Android engineering practices as the platform expands
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional Android development experience using Kotlin and Java
- Track record of deploying production-ready Android software
- Deep expertise in the Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and modern architectural patterns like MVVM
- Experience creating Android applications completely from scratch and owning end-to-end architecture choices
- Ability to operate successfully in dynamic settings with evolving requirements
- Strong communication abilities for cross-functional engineering collaboration
Qualifications
- Background in developing Android software for non-consumer contexts including enterprise tools, hardware peripherals, or kiosk applications
- Familiarity with Connected Stores technology, smart cart ecosystems, or retail hardware platforms
- Experience with hardware integrations on Android devices such as Bluetooth, NFC, or camera APIs
- Previous involvement in data-intensive software, real-time data pipelines, or inventory and logistics management systems
- Willingness to contribute to adjacent technical areas like backend services and data engineering
