Zoox is seeking a Senior Employee Relations Business Partner to help drive its People and Culture strategy by fostering an engaging and trusting workplace. In this hybrid position, the professional will provide specialized advice on employee relations, handle ADA accommodation requests, and balance fairness with risk management. This role suits an experienced compliance or employee relations professional who can use workforce analytics to identify trends, create preventative solutions, and support targeted training initiatives.
The person in this position will investigate statutory complaints, manage reasonable accommodations, and respond to day-to-day employee relations inquiries. Responsibilities also include collaborating with cross-functional teams and managers, maintaining policies, helping deliver training, and keeping accurate documentation. The position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring three days per week onsite at the Foster City, California office.
Responsibilities
- Conduct investigations into statutory complaints
- Manage the reasonable accommodation process with employees, management, and HR partners
- Partner with cross-functional teams, HR colleagues, and managers across all levels of the organization
- Handle day-to-day requests for employee relations support
- Implement and maintain employee relations policies and procedures
- Create and deliver human resources policy training
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation and records
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional experience in employee relations, employment law, or human resources compliance
- Working knowledge of corporate employment policies alongside federal, state, and local employment laws
- Understanding of ADA accommodation laws and best practices with experience handling complex requests
- Ability to work onsite three days per week in Foster City, California
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in human resources, industrial relations, employment law, or a related field
- Broader human resources practice knowledge including engagement, performance management, and compensation or benefits
- Subject matter expertise regarding FMLA and protected leaves of absence
- Previous experience working in autonomous vehicles, transportation, or manufacturing
