Job Description

Wise is recruiting a Senior Finance Business Partner for its FP&A team in London. The role is a 12-month fixed-term contract, full time and on-site. Wise moves billions of pounds of customer money across more than 70 countries, and the job exists to keep financial data timely, accurate and scalable enough to meet regulatory needs and support strategic decisions during rapid growth.

The partner acts as a strategic adviser to senior leaders across the business, helping them shape long-term plans and spot insights before they are asked for. Core work includes running the planning cycle, improving forecasts of headcount and operating costs, and building models and reports that analyse the cost base, reveal risks and opportunities, and suggest action. The role also includes deep-dive analysis of key business and financial measures, comparing actual results with forecasts, and presenting a clear financial narrative to department leads and the leadership team.

Candidates need a recognised finance credential such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or an equal option such as an MBA or master's in finance, plus post-qualification experience and solid knowledge of IFRS reporting. Extensive experience building financial models, ideally built in a planning platform like Anaplan, and taking charge of cost analysis is expected, along with experience setting policies, controlling costs and monitoring spend. The posting also asks for strong project management, comfort with uncertainty, clear and influential communication with senior stakeholders, and a willingness to do hands-on Excel work. Working across teams, offices and time zones, and occasionally travelling, is part of the job. Experience with AI-driven process improvement, working with core functions such as People, Finance, Legal and Compliance, and familiarity with Anaplan and Workday are advantages.

  • Build a clear financial narrative and report to department leads and the leadership team

Requirements

  • Proven experience partnering with department leads as a trusted adviser
  • Extensive experience building financial models, ideally in Anaplan, and owning cost analysis
  • Experience setting policies, putting cost controls in place and tracking spend as it happens
  • Experience forecasting headcount
  • Professional finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or an equivalent such as an MBA or master's in finance, with post-qualification experience and knowledge of IFRS
  • Strong project management and the ability to cut through complexity
  • Strong communicator who can influence senior stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment (bonus)
  • Experience using AI to drive process improvement (bonus)
