Instacart's Finance team is looking for a Senior Financial Insights Analyst to find and close profit leakage through analysis of financial and transactional data. The job works through invoice disputes with retailers and acts as a subject expert on Instacart's wider financial ecosystem. The role is remote and full-time, and suits someone with at least five years in strategic finance, FP&A or consulting who is comfortable with SQL and automation tools.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose invoice challenges and use retailer partnerships to resolve them
- Connect data from multiple systems with advanced SQL, Excel or Google Sheets, and Python
- Build alerting capabilities with AI and automation tools to surface issues in real time
- Present findings as clear narratives in Google Slides or PowerPoint
Requirements
- At least five years in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, private equity or management consulting supporting commercial deals
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced SQL skills and experience with PowerPoint or Google Slides
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and quickly break a problem into its key parts
Qualifications
- Two years of applying AI solutions in a specific vertical such as e-commerce, FinTech or marketplaces
- Experience with marketplace or retailer and CPG partnerships, or merchant point-of-sale data
- Experience in investment banking or consulting
