Job Description

Monzo is hiring a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst for its Financial Reporting team in London. The analyst reports to the Financial Reporting Manager and helps shape the finance function as the bank expands into the EU and adds new products. Monzo's UK offering spans personal and business accounts, joint accounts, teen accounts, a free kids account, credit cards, savings, investments and pensions.

The analyst supports the full year-end cycle, starting with drafting the annual report and running through sign-off with external auditors. Other work covers keeping the month-end close efficient, writing management commentary that explains business movements, and producing monthly management packs and one-off reports with meaningful analysis.

The role also partners with engineering and data colleagues to automate reporting, makes sure the accounting system's features are used to cut manual work, and keeps financial reporting policies and controls scalable. It assesses the accounting for new products and contracts, follows changes to accounting standards, supports ESG and sustainability disclosures, and helps the broader finance team with tasks such as forecasting and tax research.

Candidates should be chartered accountants (ACA or CA), ideally with audit experience and some reporting or controls work outside practice. Familiarity with banking regulation and the main financial controls is expected. The person must turn complex information into plain language and use data to automate work; SQL is a bonus.

Pay is 56,000 to 75,000 GBP depending on experience, with incentive awards tied to performance. The team meets in the London office twice a week, though distributed working within the UK is possible with occasional London meetings. Other perks include a 1,000 GBP yearly learning budget, flexible hours, a MacBook and home office support for fully remote staff.
