Cresta is recruiting a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer for its AI Agent team, a remote full-time position based in the UK. The engineer builds, configures, ships and tunes AI agents on Cresta's platform. A large share of the job is integration: connecting agents to outside systems such as APIs, databases and CRM software so they slot into a customer's existing processes. The engineer also refines prompts and settings, diagnoses problems in complicated enterprise environments, and presents hands-on demonstrations and proofs of concept to prospects.

Python and Go skills are required. Practical work with large language models and prompt design is strongly preferred, as is experience building agent systems that rely on tool invocation and retrieval-augmented generation. Responsibilities
- Build, configure, deploy and tune AI agents on Cresta's platform

- Gather technical requirements from customers and internal stakeholders
- Deliver interactive demonstrations and proofs of concept to prospects
- Set milestones, implementation plans and delivery timelines
- Relay lessons from live deployments to product and engineering teams
- Guide customers on architecture, security and scalability for AI agents
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's qualification in computing, engineering or an adjacent discipline
- Three-plus years working full time in software, consulting, machine learning engineering, integration work or as a forward deployed engineer
- Proficiency in Python and Golang
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts
- Grasp of agent design patterns, tool invocation and retrieval-augmented generation
- Work with AWS, GCP or Azure plus DevOps methods like continuous delivery, containerisation and observability
- Experience integrating systems through APIs, webhooks and data pipelines
- Strong communication and project management skills
Qualifications
- Practical use of LLMs and prompt crafting is a strong plus
- Experience building retrieval-augmented generation or agent systems, strongly preferred
- Use of split testing and metrics tracking to improve results
