Canva is hiring a Senior Graphics and Illustration Specialist on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The position can be based in Sydney or Melbourne and offers hybrid working, mixing remote work with time on site. Canva's Sydney campus is its flagship location, and the Melbourne campus is in Collingwood.
The specialist takes full ownership of producing locally relevant graphics and illustrations from start to finish. Duties include setting visual direction, giving rigorous craft feedback to colleagues, and designing AI-supported workflows, including AI-generated material, from early trials through to publication. The role draws on performance data, search trends and market intelligence to spot content opportunities, converts strategy into creative priorities and production schedules, and checks that assets meet standards for craft, metadata and discoverability. The specialist also works with regional, platform and operations teams and passes on know-how to Canva's Motion and Illustration group.
The specialist sits in the International Content team as part of Growth's Scale and Enablement team. That group builds creative and operational systems that allow tailored and AI-generated content to ship at scale without sacrificing standards or local fit.
