Job Description
Twilio is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to reinforce the company's internal control framework. The position can be done remotely from Ontario, British Columbia or Alberta, Canada, and reports to the internal audit senior manager.
The auditor designs and carries out risk-focused operational and compliance reviews covering functions around the world, often working with little direction. Duties include recording process flows, preparing testing workpapers, writing reports that identify root causes and broader implications, and tracking management's remediation plans until the risk is reduced.
Beyond that, the auditor checks whether business process controls are designed sensibly and work as intended for SOX, weighs control deficiencies and follows up on fixes. The auditor works alongside business teams to spot control weaknesses and propose workable, scalable improvements, and is encouraged to bring AI and automation into audit work.
The ideal candidate combines analytical strength with clear communication and a collaborative approach in a fast-growing technology company. Travel of about 5 percent is anticipated. The estimated pay range is $82,720 to $103,400, with a target bonus of 12.5 percent. Starting pay depends on skills, experience and location.
Responsibilities
- Plan and complete end-to-end, risk-based operational and compliance audits across global functions
- Record process flows and produce testing workpapers
- Write audit reports that explain root causes and strategic implications rather than listing exceptions alone
- Track management action plans to confirm risks are shrinking over time
- Test whether business process controls for SOX are designed and operating effectively
- Evaluate control deficiencies and monitor their remediation
- Partner with cross-functional teams to refine workflows and close control gaps
- Use AI and automation tools to make audit work faster and more useful
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in operations audits, risk advisory or internal control work at a Big 4 firm or technology company
- A four-year degree in accounting, finance or a business discipline
- Capability to run complete operational and compliance audits on complex global functions without close supervision
- Working knowledge of control frameworks such as COSO and the IIA standards
- Strong written and spoken communication, including report writing and presentations
- Skill at juggling priorities and guiding other members of an audit project team
Qualifications
- CIA, CPA, CA or a similar credential is strongly preferred
- Working exposure to Oracle-style ERP systems and AuditBoard-type audit software
- Experience with analytics tools such as SQL, Tableau, Alteryx or Python for continuous auditing
