Job Description
Gusto helps small businesses handle payroll, health insurance, 401(k) plans and HR. It serves over 500,000 small firms across the country and has teams in New York, Denver and San Francisco. The company is hiring a Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager for its accountant and bookkeeper channel, the professionals who serve as an indirect route to small business clients.
The role is a hands-on builder position centered on email and webinars. The manager plans, builds, tests, launches and reports on email campaigns, owns the webinar program from calendar planning through follow-up, and develops segmentation, personalization and reporting processes. AI and agentic tools are expected to be a core part of this work, and the posting asks for real experience leading those processes on live marketing tasks.
The manager coordinates with the Product and Product Marketing groups, along with Analytics, Community Marketing, Engineering, Data Science, AI Operations and Brand and Creative teams. The Customer Lifecycle Marketing team this role sits in manages how Gusto engages and retains existing customers and partners.
The posting lists the role as remote. Employees in the New York, Denver and San Francisco offices are expected on site about two to three days per week, and remote work from other locations requires approval and a reliable internet connection. Base pay is listed at $134,000 to $168,000 per year for Denver and $158,000 to $197,000 per year in San Francisco or New York, along with equity and benefits for full-time employees.
Responsibilities
- Own the lifecycle marketing strategy for the accountant and bookkeeper channel, mainly through email and webinars.
- Handle the full cycle for email campaigns, covering planning, building, quality checks, launch and reporting across third-party platforms and Gusto's in-house agentic tool.
- Run the webinar program from start to finish: scheduling, production, promotion, post-event follow-up and results reporting.
- Develop and refine AI and agentic processes that handle segmentation, personalization and reporting.
- Partner with the Product and Product Marketing groups on the channel roadmap, alongside Analytics and Community Marketing.
- Analyze campaign and program results, run tests, and recommend changes to keep the channel healthy.
Requirements
- Eight-plus years working in lifecycle, growth, CRM or partner-channel marketing.
- Practical use of a large-scale automation system for marketing, with Marketo or Iterable the strongest fit.
- Experience leading AI-driven or agentic processes for live marketing tasks, not just drafting copy with AI.
- Proven record of owning email campaigns and webinar production from start to finish.
- Strong copy editing and copywriting, with the ability to shift tone for different audiences.
- Track record of working across functions such as product, analytics and product marketing.
Qualifications
- Either a bachelor's degree or practical experience that stands in for one.
Core Skills
Benefits
- Full-time employees receive a base salary, benefits and RSU equity grants.
