The organization seeks a Senior Manager, Engineering for the Identity and Access Management Platform team on a remote, full-time basis with a salary range of USD 250,000 to 300,000 per year.
This position directs the foundational layer responsible for determining visibility and permissions across the entire product. The role centers on backend-heavy, security-sensitive systems including authentication protocols, authorization engines, role models, sharing primitives, and audit logs. The manager will partner with a Staff engineer for technical direction while personally owning delivery, personnel matters, priorities, and team expansion. Additionally, the department operates using AI-native workflows where autonomous agents handle task routing, scoping, and status reporting to eliminate routine status meetings.
Candidates must possess extensive software engineering experience alongside management tenure, specific background in identity and access management systems, familiarity with agentic workflows, and daily fluency with AI tools. The position involves engaging with enterprise customers, security teams, and go-to-market stakeholders while maintaining rigorous operational and security standards for high-blast-radius services.

- Manage an AI-native operating model utilizing agents for project routing, scoping, and status updates
- Engage with enterprise customers and GTM teams regarding identity requirements and security architecture reviews
- Direct operational excellence encompassing on-call rotations, safe migrations, reliability, and server-side trust boundaries
- Uphold engineering standards through code reviews, design evaluations, testing, and security-by-design principles
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering background developing production SaaS applications
- At least 3 years of experience managing engineering teams including senior engineers
- Hands-on expertise delivering authentication and authorization systems such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, JWTs, MFA, enterprise SSO, SCIM, and RBAC
- Demonstrated capability in utilizing AI tools and agentic workflows to automate triage, reporting, and team workflows
- Background delivering enterprise-grade SaaS at scale and collaborating directly with enterprise customers
- Track record of building, scaling, and retaining high-performing engineering teams
- Technical depth sufficient to lead architecture discussions and evaluate trade-offs on critical systems
- Security-conscious mindset prioritizing precise access control, auditability, and minimal blast radius
- Daily fluency with AI tools in personal workflows alongside strong cross-functional communication skills
Qualifications
- Experience managing identity and access management or authorization at a massive scale across millions of users or multi-tenant environments
- Background designing configuration-driven or policy-based access models, authorization engines, or Zero Trust identity
- Familiarity with SCIM provisioning, audit logging, and enterprise compliance frameworks like SOC 2 and ISO 27001
- Track record of assisting products in moving upmarket to win enterprise customers
- Experience introducing AI-native or agent-driven operating frameworks to engineering groups
- Experience managing engineers across both backend and frontend domains or supervising other managers
